The Genomics platform, we encourage to meet in person and discuss the project objectives and goals. It helps us to offer the personalized service in the fields of RNA, DNA sequencing and single cell analysis. The technology offered are Next Generation Sequencing (Illumina) and Long Read Sequencing (Oxford Nanopore), which allow the high flexibility to different sequencing needs.

Researchers can contact us for any project question at LCSB-sequencing@uni.lu.

Below are some points to be considered during the planning phase before performing the experiments.

For sequencing related project

  • What is the aim of the experiment?
  • How many samples (number) are necessary to obtain a robust result?
  • How are these samples collected?
  • Which DNA/RNA isolation technique is optimal?
  • How is better DNA/RNA integrity achieved?
  • How much sequencing data coverage (depth) is required?
  • Which method and sequencing protocol should be used?

For single cell related project

  • What is the aim of the experiment?
  • How many samples (number) are necessary to obtain a robust result?
  • How to prepare the cell suspension?
  • How many samples can be prepared and processed in a single day?
  • Single cell or nuclei should be used for the experiment?
  • How much sequencing data coverage (depth) is required?
  • Which method and sequencing protocol should be used?
